PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS Moderation By the time of Moderation, a student in the Mathematics Program should have taken (or be taking) the following courses or their equivalents:
Students in the Mathematics Program are expected to follow the standard Bard procedure for Moderation (PDF). In addition, to learn mathematical writing, students moderating into Mathematics must produce a couple of pages written in LaTeX about some interesting mathematics that they have learned on their own. There should be some mathematical formulas involved, and this paper must use correct grammar and spelling, and complete sentences. Students should see their advisors if they have any questions about moderation requirements. Graduation By graduation, a student in the Mathematics Program must have taken:
A student completing a Senior Project in mathematics must give a Prospectus Talk describing her problem in the first semester of her senior project, as well as a poster and a second talk after the project is completed. Students must also fulfill the college-wide Distribution Requirements and First-Year Seminar. |
